Nina Crespo presents In and Out of the Covers with JL Lora
Nina Crespo: JL Lora caught my attention with her beautiful book covers. I had to meet her and finally did earlier this year at a retreat. Generous, genuine, a great smile–those are just a few of the words that describe this wonderful author. Make sure you add her to your summer reading list.
Book covers: Hero with or without a shirt?
Iām a Taurus and choosing is really hard for us even when we know what we like or want. Mostly, cause we want it all. I love those muscled shirtless guys covers but those covers with that one hot guy, in a suit, or a t-shirt with the penetrating eyes, and those sexy mouthsā¦sigh.
Strawberries and whipped cream: On a man or on a plate?
On a man. Sinful and sweet. Itās more nutritious that way. hahaha
Rabbit: Under the sheets or in a cage?
Definitely under the sheets. Itās more fun that way and Peter Cottontail gets to live free and frolic in the forest.
Happy endings: In a bed or reading a book?
Both because otherwise this is a cruel cruel choice! A Happily for Now is acceptable in books only (!!!) but the author has to come back and give me my happy ending. In bed, the piper needs to be paid on real time. LOL
Final question: In your opinion, what makes a book a satisfying read?
When I make that emotional connection to one or both characters. When theyāve touched me in some way and either made me laugh, cry, or say I know exactly how that feels. Thatās the connection that will have stand by them through that whole journey and suffer and sigh with them. When a book reaches me at that level, Iāll always go back to it and Iāll never stop talking about it.
He swore to never come back. She promised to hold him to his word.
After years of living the life his oppressive parents wanted for him, Cameron Blake is ready to pursue his dreams of being a reclusive artist. Pleasing the faithful baseball fans of the New York Emperors has been rewarding, but now all he wants is peace and quiet. That and an irreversible vasectomy. Because thereās no way heās passing on the heavy burden of the Blake genes to an innocent child. But Cameron never gets what he wants. Ever.
The last thing Adrianna Arenas needs is for her ex to slide back into her life. Not when she can throw a nine-year-old curve ball that will change his game. Not when his father could tear her world apart with a simple phone call. Especially not when, despite everything that stands between them, her insides go wild when Cameron walks into a room. But Adri never gets to keep things the way she needs them. Ever.
After ten years, fate brings Cameron face-to-face with Adrianna, the woman he never forgot, and the little girl that ties them forever.
It all goes back to the secrets, jealousy, and heartache that destroyed the magical summer when they loved each other madly, broke each otherās hearts, and changed each otherās lives.
Read this second chance romance and find out if Adri and Camās story goes on the win column for love.
Excerpt:
Cameron listened from the door and rushed back to the couch when the bed shifted and soft footsteps tapped on the hardwood. By the time Adrianna came out of the room and closed the door, he was rifling through the magazine on the coffee table, Bronās school catalog. She looked around the room, her hands clasped together like she couldnāt figure out where to sit. He could look at nothing else but her.
Heād found out he had a child today, his world flipped on its axis, and it all came back to Adrianna. Everything about her was the same and radically different at the same time. She still had the same bright, wide-as-a-mile, smile. The endless shade of rich, creamy skin heād sketched over with his tongue and once immortalized in brown ochre. The color came close but would wither next to the real thing, the Faceless Angel Queen forged from a burning red hibiscus.
Their eyes met, and it was charged, like lightning through metal wires. His pulse revved up enough to force a hitch in his breath. His gaze slid down her no-longer rail-thin, but fuller, curvier body. Her breasts were now larger than a handful and her thicker ass made his mouth dry and his slacks tighten. She was a woman, no longer the eighteen-year-old girl who dumped, broke, and cursed him.
Would her skin still be as soft against my lips? The blood rushed straight down, tightening his groin. He squeezed the catalog too hard, crumbling the paper. He smoothed it out and set it aside.
She took the other end of the couch. A full cushion was between them as she sat and turned to face him, with her legs tucked under her. It took all his willpower not to move closer to her. Too many things stood between them, but his fingers itched to lose themselves in her hair and to kiss her mouth. He needed to know if her lips still tasted like summer peaches and glory, or if his imagination had embellished her with every passing second. No, I definitely should not touch her.
Her voice jarred him away from his thoughts.
“I found out I was pregnant when I was about six weeks along. I wasn’t feeling well for a while, but I thought it was something else, so I didn’t go to the doctor until I was forced to.” She pressed her thumb to her hand as she spoke.
“What did you think it was?” he asked, leaning closer, like a dog chasing the soft floral scent of her body.
“I was sad and crying a lot.”
He frowned. “Why?”
She peered at him under her lashes with eyes full of yesterdayās regrets. “You left.”
“You told me to leave and never come back, Adri.”
She nodded. “I know. I just never thought you would actually do it.”

A New Sizzling Summer Read – Fight For You
FIGHT FOR YOU has arrived! I’m equally excited that I’ve finally graduated from cold medicine to wine so I can celebrate release week with you:) Thank you for coming along for the ride with Nic and Sophie and now Aiden and Delanie.
In an upcoming newsletter post for Fresh Fiction, I shared why I wanted to write about the Kingman Brothers:
“I was inspired to write the series because I love soapy, messy dramas. Iām drawn to imperfect characters as well as themes of forgiveness and second chances.”
If you enjoy the same, this series is for you!
What’s next on the horizon? I’m resting up for the Romance Writers of America conference and getting some writing done. I’ve shared all of the latest in my newsletter. Here’s the link if you missed it: https://t.co/yaPAqQ5xFt
I’d love to hear from you. Say hello to me on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

Nina Crespo presents In and Out of the Covers with Ellay Branton
Nina Crespo:Ā I had the good fortune of connecting with Ellay Branton at the RT Convention this past May. Ā I’m happy to introduce you to her and her sexy, super spicy books. Enjoy!
Book covers: Hero with or without a shirt?
Iām an imaginative person, so I could go either way. When an author is excellent with description, I can happily picture the hero without visual aids. However, I definitely donāt find it a hardship to stare while droolā- I mean, ā
look at a great image of a shirtless hero.
Strawberries and whipped cream: On a man or on a plate?
On a plate. I prefer A-1 on a man ā(āespecially that spot where their hip tendons make that V-shapeā)!ā Mmmm tangy.
Rabbit: Under the sheets or in a cage?
āIāf itās a fuzzy critter, I have one, and most of the time heās in a cage. If itās battery operated, why limit it to the bedroom? I choose option C. (Can I do that?) C. Use your B.O.B. bunny wherever you can without scaring children or being arrested.
Happy endings: In a bed or reading a book?
Yes. Oh wait, you wanted me to choose. Right. Um. I need both to be a happy person.
Final question: In your opinion, what makes a book a satisfying read?
Believable characters working their way through a situation that seems impossible, and coming out the other side better for, it is always something I love in a story. Make the solution creative, and I get giddy. Give me strong dialogue and I swoon.
About Ellay’s Book
Viola Winters has finally settled into a peaceful life after years of dealing with emotional instability. As the live-in housekeeper of a very busy globetrotter, she has a swanky address, really great coffee, and quiet mornings.
Except for this one.
Hank Dresden (aka Hank the Hunk) is a little cranky. He was just helping out his brother with a little remodeling while James was away on a business trip. So maybe he did swing his hammer a little early (ahem)… he had no idea it would bring on a sexy, mouthy woman in a soaked shirt… or a house fire!
With the interference of their matchmaking brothers – and the help of two very naughty sock monkeys – Viola and Hank discover the sparks that fly between them cause a whole different kind of fire. But Viola’s much more fragile than she seems, and Hank’s never been known for mincing words.
If Viola gives her heart to Hank, will she get the happily-ever-after she never dared hope for? Or will she lose the security and peace she’s finally achieved?
Note: No sock monkeys were soiled or abused in this work.
About Ellay Branton
Ellay Branton is a tiny useful human who bears a slight resemblance to a shaved hobbit – except her feet and ankles are dainty. She has an inappropriate sense of humor that has often landed her in trouble. She believes that life is meant to be fun and isn’t afraid to be silly – no matter who is watching. Bonus points if you join in!
Ellay lives in Northern California with her husband, her children and more animals than humans. She can often be found on Facebook fangirling over her favorite authors, artists, and of course, Star Wars.
She loves to hear from readers!
Nina Crespo presents In and Out of the Covers with Rebecca Brooks
Nina Crespo: Finally checking Rebecca Brooks off of my authors-to-meet-in-person list finally happened this past May at the RT Convention. Her smile is genuine. Her sense of humor will brighten your day, and her smart, sexy contemporary stories (featuring some not to miss outdoor love scenes) will definitely become favorites on your bookshelf. Enjoy!
Book covers: Hero with or without a shirt?
No shirtāor in the process of removing it!
Strawberries and whipped cream: On a man or on a plate?
Plate. That a man is bringing to me. Yum.
Rabbit: Under the sheets or in a cage?
Under the sheets. I LOVE animals, but they don’t come with an on/off switch I can use whenever I want.
Happy endings: In a bed or reading a book?
Books are fun foreplay, but I want the ending to happen in bed. š
Final question: In your opinion, what makes a book a satisfying read?
EMOTION. No matter what happens, whether it’s good, bad, happy, sexy, angsty, you name it, I want to FEEL it. I have to believe in the characters and why they’re doing what they do.
Reeling from a sudden breakup, Casey Webb leaves Brooklyn, drives north, and settles in a sleepy mountain town in upstate New York. Sheās convinced sheās happy being aloneāuntil she reads the acknowledgments in her ex-boyfriendās hit debut novel, thanking his new girlfriend āabove all.”
Good thing Ben Mailer is in town. The hot, young Brooklyn-bound chef offers the perfect distraction. Soon the backwoods are heating up… But as their fling turns into more, the demands of Benās family and budding career make moving to her idyllic town impossible.
Now Casey must decide what she canāt live withoutāher life in the mountains, or the man she wants to be hers above all…
Excerpt
At last he turned to go. On his way out, he wished Casey a good night and then reached up to tap the back of the doorframe before swinging the door shut behind him.
She really, really wished he hadnāt.
Because lifting his arms to the doorframe made his jacket rise up enough to expose the top of his low-slung jeans. As well as the thin green line of his boxers hugging his hips underneath. It didnāt take X-ray vision to know that just above that patch of skin, hidden by his white undershirt and whatever else he had on under his black North Face fleece, were two long dimples carved into his lower back, matching the dimples on his face.
Officially the sexiest part of any manās body, and the one thing Casey dreamed about on those rare nights when she did, in fact, allow herself to dream.
But this was not going to be one of those images she replayed in her mindās eye. She was already berating herself for noticing. Not only had she turned to putty simply because he slid the hair out of his eyes as if he didnāt know the gesture would make every girl within a ten-mile radius want to extend her hand to his cheek. But she, Cassandra Webb, competent, capable, got dumped on her ass but still got back up again, thirty-four-year-old independent woman, had checked out his twenty-something-year-old butt.
She made herself swear she wouldnāt give him a second thought. She wasnāt interested. Period. Sheād come to the woods to be alone and she fully planned to stay that way. She was going to read a little more until she was sufficiently distracted and then head back to her cabin, warm some cookies in the microwave, and go to sleep. Geller would take over registration in the morning and she would never see this group again.
Casey reached for her book, but she couldnāt stop her hand from hovering over the ledger. Before she knew what she was doing, she allowed herself a quick peek at the records and groaned.
Gellerās handwriting was unmistakable. They were staying for four days, three nights.
There was no way she wouldnāt find herself looking at those dimples again.

About Rebecca Brooks
Rebecca Brooks lives in New York City in an apartment filled with books. She received a PhD in English but decided it was more fun to write books than to write about them. Above All, A Heart of the Adirondacks novel, releases on July 20, 2018. Her next book, Wrong Bed, Right Roommate (Accidental Love Book 1), will be out in the fall of 2018.
Nina Crespo presents In and Out of the Covers with Kerri Carpenter
Nina Crespo: It’s my pleasure to introduce you to fellow Entangled Publishing author Kerri Carpenter. Her sweet, sexy, and funny romances will brighten your day and so will her answers to my questions about what she finds intriguing in and out of the covers.
Book covers: Hero with or without a shirt?
Usually with a shirt. Iām very particular about the kind of man chest I like to see. Muscular, but not steroid-y looking, and a sprinkling of hair.
Strawberries and whipped cream: On a man or on a plate?
Strawberries on a plate and whipped cream on a man! #yum
Rabbit: Under the sheets or in a cage?
Ha-ha! In a cage, please.
Happy endings: In a bed or reading a book?
Both???
Final question: In your opinion, what makes a book a satisfying read?
A book is satisfying to me when I canāt put it down. When I know I have to get up super early the next day, yet I donāt care that Iām staying up until two in the morning to finish it.
About Kerri’s Book
It wasnāt shy librarian Lola McBride’s idea to crash someone elseās high school reunion. Her best friend made her do it, insisting that having a little fun with a super-hot rebound would make her forget about her recent breakup. Thatās when she meets the hottest guy sheās ever seen.
Architect Luke Erickson had no idea attending his ten-year reunion would turn out to be so fun. He catches the sexy brunette in a lie, and he counters with a proposalāHeāll keep her secret if she helps get his family off his back by pretending to be his girlfriend at an upcoming family reunion.
From one reunion to another, Lola and Luke are suddenly spending a lot of time together. Good thing they’re only pretending, or this super-secret relationship could get really complicated.
Excerpt
Maybe he knew her. Maybe theyād gone out in high school? Surely not. Heād remember someone who looked like this.
āCan you believe weāre already having our ten-year reunion?ā he asked.
āWhat? Oh, right. Yeah. I mean, no.ā She laughed. āI mean, no, I canāt believe itās been ten whole years.ā She quickly averted his eyes.
She was adorable.
He stuck out a hand. āIām Luke Erickson.ā
She shook his hand. āIām Loā¦ā She glanced down at her nametag as if she needed a reminder. āIām Kelli Martingale. Nice to meet you.ā
Her words were cut off when she stepped forward, hit the side of the table, shaking all the contents on it. Luke jumped to save a particularly wobbly red Jell-O dessert, causing most of the Jell-O mold to mold right onto his favorite white shirt.
Kelli gasped. āOhmigod. Iām so sorry.ā
While he wanted to offer a huge fuckkkkk, he could tell that she felt horrible. So, he shrugged as she quickly tried to help him clean up. Together, they got as much of the Jell-O off his shirt as they could. Then she grabbed a mound of napkins and began running them over his chest.
He shivered. Actually fucking shivered. What the hell? This Jell-O must be extra cold. Kelli must have feel it too, because she paused, hands plastered against his chest, as she met his gaze. Her mouth fell open and formed an O.
Suddenly, it wasnāt his shirt he was worried about; his pants began to feel a tad too snug. He wrapped his hands around her wrists and tried to offer a smile. Although, with the new, um, pain he was experiencing in his lower half, it probably came out as more of a grimace.
āI think I have it from here.ā
A red blush tinted her cheeks. āOf course. But I really am so sorry.ā Then she dug in her purse and pulled out a pair of thick black glasses. āIām not usually a klutzy person,ā she explained as she put the glasses on. āMy roommate thought I looked sexier without my glasses, so she forced me to take them off. But Iām blind as a bat without them.ā
He took her in, and if he thought his pants were feeling tight before, he was pretty sure that all oxygen was leaving his body now. All he could say about the glasses wasā¦holy fuck.
Her roommate thought she was sexier without them? Hells to the no. Definitely wrong on that one. The bombshell dress plus the thick sex kitten hair plus the gorgeous face plus the most seductive glasses in the history of eyewear equaled a speechless, hard Luke.
See, if Kennedy High taught him one thing, it was how to do math. Another equation was already becoming clear. Kelli plus Luke was going to equal one hell of a reunion.
